Labor in the Pulpits 2007: August 31st-
September 2nd
Labor
Day is an opportunity for people of faith to remember God's
commitment to justice and to reflect on how we can help ensure that
workers are treated with dignity in the workplace. The
Labor in the Pulpits program provides worship resources and speakers for congregations'
worship services on Labor Day weekend. Speakers share how they connect their life of faith to their
struggle for justice in the workplace.
Congregations can participate in the Labor in the Pulpits in many ways,
including using our worship resources and reflections focused on justice for workers; hosting a speaker from the Mid-South Interfaith Network,
publicizing our Faith and Labor Picnic
to be held on Labor Day,
September 3rd, or taking up a collection for the Workers
Interfaith Network to be used in our campaigns and for our new Memphis' Workers Center.
